Astilbe 'Chocolate Shogun' (_thunbergii_ hybrid)
False Goat's Beard. A hardy perennial with the darkest coloured foliage of any Astilbe. The rich, chocolate tones set off the feathery pink flowers that rise above the lacy foliage through summer. Great as cut flowers or can be left on the plant to provide winter interest. A great plant for patio containers.
Plant Care
Plant into any good garden soil, will tolerate damp soils. This plant dies down in winter to regrow in spring. Trim off any old foliage in spring.
