Stachys byzantina 'Silver Carpet'

Aptly named 'Lamb's Ear', it has velvety, soft, silver, ear-shaped leaves, resembling its namesake. Living up to its 'carpet' title, it tends to spread much faster than other varieties, making it a great ground coverer. Provides year-round interest.

Plant Care

Keep well watered until firmly established. Feed with a good liquid fertiliser every two weeks in the flowering season. Plant into any good garden soil, avoiding wet areas.

Height/Width

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
