RHS Plants for Pollinators

Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna Pink Inspiration' ('Tuitsalv')

A hardy and easy to grow ornamental sage. Masses of dark stems make the pink flowers adorning them attractive and eye-catching. This clump forming perennial is also very attractive to pollinators. Ideal for growing in patio containers.

Plant Care

Plant into any good garden soil, avoiding wet areas. Trim to 15cm in spring to encourage bushy growth and lots of flowers. If trimmed a second time in summer, more flowers will be produced for the autumn.

Height/Width

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
