Eryngium x zabelii 'Big Blue'

The Big Blue 'Sea Holly' gives an outstanding presence in any garden. Large blooms and sturdy stems make it impossible to overlook. Green, spikey foliage is great for the middle to back of mixed borders. The electric blue flowers extend well down onto the flower stems. This plant will provide striking blooms for cut flowers, whether fresh or dried. Attractive to bees and butterflies.

Plant Care

Plant in any good garden soil or patio container. Keep well watered until firmly established, feed with a good liquid fertiliser every two weeks in the flowering season.

Water thoroughly, or stand pot in a container of water for half an hour before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Remove the pot, place the plant in the hole so that the root ball is level with the surrounding ground and refill, firming if necessary. Keep well watered in dry weather. Feed in spring with a good, general fertiliser.
